Easter Fun at Werribee Open Range Zoo

29 March 2018

Easter arrived early for the animals at Werribee Open Range Zoo today, with the hippos, lions and meerkats all set to receive special Easter treats.

The animals embraced the Easter spirit as they play with specially made toys and food including a giant Easter basket for the lions, watermelon rabbits for the hippos and Easter eggs for the meerkats.

Created by Zoo volunteers, the Easter treats were a hit with the growing lion pride to enjoy as well as a nice snack for the hippos, meerkats and Vervet Monkies.

Visitors have the opportunity to join in the festivities this Easter as Victoria’s zoos are going Wild About Play!

The zoos are full of amazing animals, memorable experiences and some great play zones for kids too. From discovering the ropes course at Werribee Open Range Zoo, dressing up as a Zoo Keeper in Keeper Kids at Melbourne Zoo, to splashing around as part of Creek Play at Healesville Sanctuary, we’ve got lots of spaces perfect for playing and having fun!

Visitors are encouraged to check out the new Wild About Passport for a list of top activities including awesome indoor and outdoor play zones across the three zoos.

Werribee Open Range Zoo is open every day of the year and kids under the age of 16 receive free entry on all public holidays, school holidays and weekends.
