A special Easter treat saw three gorillas swinging from the tree tops at Werribee Open Range Zoo today.

Silverback Motaba and his two sons, Yakini and Ganyeka, enjoyed an Easter egg hunt early this morning, discovering several egg piñatas filled with some of their favourite treats.

Zoo volunteers made the piñata eggs which were filled with popcorn and sultanas.

Visitors were also treated to some special gorilla action with the Go Bananas with Gorillas school holiday program kicking off this weekend.

They went nose to nose with our bachelor boys at special gorilla feeds and experienced all-new daily gorilla keeper talks, plus much more. All the gorilla action continues every day over the school holidays. For details, visit
