Make a pouch for our Bush Babies!

Springtime is a time when Healesville Sanctuary receives many orphaned wildlife babies. Our vet team at the Australian Wildlife Health Centre work very closely with keepers and carers to look after these little ones.

We use pouches for our orphans, creating a warm and snug space for our babies to rest and recover. These pouches are similar to their mum’s own pouch. They are often changed at every feed, sometimes up to six times a day which means the washing line is always full!

Just as our orphaned babies come in all shapes and sizes, so does our need for different sized pouches.
