Three times a miracle
When Ezra walked past a possum which had been hit by a car in Don Valley, she wasn’t prepared for what she saw. The possum’s belly was still moving, so Ezra’s mum checked the pouch and found three tiny babies which they rushed to Healesville Sanctuary.
The joeys have been in 24-hour critical care at the Australian Wildlife Health Centre for the past month and vets have finally said their future prognosis is looking much brighter.
The possums, two boys and a girl, have been named Theodore, Cornelius and Ezra, after the litle girl who found them.
Visitors to Healesville Sanctuary can see the triplets being raised in the nursery, along with many other orphaned spring babies being cared for at this time of the year.
