Don’t be fooled by the angry face, this little sweetheart weighs just over four grams and can fit in the palm of your hand.

Meet Billie, a Little Forest Bat that was brought into the Australian Wildlife Hospital Centre at Healesville Sanctuary earlier this week.

When vets examined her, she was dehydrated and underweight, weighing only 3.5 grams. But after some tiny tender care, this fully grown bat now weighs a healthy 4.3 grams. Billie is fed three to four times a day and eats around 30 mealworms; which is equivalent to 70 per cent of her body weight!

Billie will be sent to a carer soon who will care for her until she can be released back to the wild.
