Get up close to our irresistible Ring-tailed Lemurs inside Melbourne Zoo’s new walk-though Lemur Island exhibit!
Opening on 21 December, this new multi-million dollar experience is specially designed to bring visitors and lemurs together in the same space, enabling you to get closer to our lemurs than ever before.
Discover what it’s like to be a lemur as you walk and play amongst these charismatic animals. Enter Lemur Island through a rainforest tunnel then head up along a boardwalk toward the ‘tree house’ to discover the wonder of the world’s rainforests.
Stunning landscapes and soundscapes will transport you into the forests of Madagascar, home of the world’s remaining lemur species, and make it hard to believe you’re still at Melbourne Zoo!
Lemur Island creates a new entry into our Gorilla Rainforest experience: home to gorillas, Pygmy Hippopotamus, Mandrills, and tree-tops apes and monkeys. Make sure you don’t miss our new Zooperman challenge and discover the secret to saving gorillas in the wild. Kids will discover the link between gorillas and mobile phones, and can hunt for hidden phones to receive their own certificate.
Be one of the first to experience Lemur Island at Melbourne Zoo this summer ... And remember, kids are free every weekend, Victorian Government school holidays and public holidays!
Free with general admission. Kids are free all Victorian Government school holidays.
