Join as a Zoos Victoria Teacher Tribe Member for only $72 per year. 

Teacher Tribe Memberships are available to those that teach in a Victorian pre-school, school, TAFE, adult community and further education or university; or students enrolled in a teacher training program.

STEM and Design Thinking (Foundation - Year 6)

Especially for primary teachers, this 1-hour online on-demand PD will help you teach STEM using Design Thinking. Design Thinking is a framework that is used to find solutions to big challenges. You will experience each stage of Design Thinking and consider how to use it in your curriculum.

You will hear Dr Marissa Parrot and Darcie Carruthers chat about the Mountain Pygmy-possum, Australia’s only hibernating marsupial. Find out about the biology of this special possum, the threats it faces in the wild and the innovation projects that are bringing it back from the brink.

Conversations – Detection Dogs

This PD will equip you with real stories and up-to-date knowledge that can be used in your Science curriculum. You will hear Chris Hartnett chat with Dr La Toya Jackson and Naomi Hodgens about how dogs are helping the conservation of endangered animals. Find out about how dogs are being used to find (but not harm) endangered animals in the wild.

NEW: Conversations  International Conservation 

This PD supports the Year 9-10 Geography unit ‘Environment Change and Management’. Chris Banks, International Partnerships Manager, will talk about Zoos Victoria’s international conservation partnerships. Angie and Augustine from Rhino Fund Uganda will then share how they are working with local villages to re-establish the Southern White Rhino population.

In this science PD you'll meet Dr Jenny Gray (CEO of Zoos Victoria) and Dr Sally Sherwen (Director of Wildlife Conservation and Science).
