Our zoos are temporarily closed

A very big thank you to our Zoo Members and many friends for your continued support, to help us provide the best love and care to our animals during this challenging time.

October 18 update: Healesville Sanctuary, Melbourne Zoo and Werribee Open Range Zoo remain temporarily closed

While our zoos remain closed under the updated restrictions that were announced on Sunday 18 October, we will continue to work with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to ensure we are well prepared to safely reopen when able to.

We will let you know via our website and social media channels as soon as we know when it is safe for our three wonderful zoos to reopen and you can get back outside to enjoy the magic of nature and wildlife!

In the meantime we will continue to livestream to your living rooms all the fun things our animals are getting up to, via Animals at Home.

As always, we'll be here caring for the animals while the rest of the world cares for the humans. Our animals, zoo keepers and other staff thank you for your kind messages and support of our zoos while we play our part in helping to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Keep an eye out for further updates via this webpage, our social media channels and zoo member emails over the coming weeks.

Thank you again for your support – your support means a lot to us and we look forward to welcoming you all to our zoos once it’s safe to do so.
