Zoos Victoria Members’ Dinosaur Scavenger Hunt Competition

This Zoos Victoria Members’ Dinosaur Scavenger Hunt Competition (“Competition”) is offered subject to the terms and conditions set out below "Terms and Conditions". 

The promoter of this Competition is the Zoological Parks and Gardens Board trading as Zoos Victoria (the “Promoter”) ABN 96 913 959 053, located at the address of Elliott Avenue, Parkville VIC 3052. 

Who can enter? 

Entry is only available to active Zoos Victoria Members (“Members”). Entrants under 18 years of age may enter only with parental or guardian consent. Should the winner be under the age of 18 years, they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 18 years of age or over to collect their prize. Zoos Victoria reserves the right to require an entrant to produce identification and / or proof of age.  

Employees, officers (including volunteers and board members) and contractors (and their immediate families) of the Promoter or of the agencies or companies associated with this Promotion are ineligible. "Immediate family" of a person means the parents, siblings, children, and spouse or partner (whether legal or de facto) of that person and any person associated with the Competition. 

How to Enter 

  1. To enter the competition, Members must visit Zoos Victoria properties, namely Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary, and Kyabram Fauna Park (collectively called “zoos”) to find the answers to five dinosaur activity questions, plus a secret code word and enter via the online entry form. 
  2. The code word will be on a sign hidden amongst the Dinos at each zoo. The code word at each zoo will be different and found within each Dinosaur trail.  
  3. Dinosaur activity questions can be found in the  Autumn 2024 edition of the Zooper Kids magazine and the online entry form. Zooper Kids magazine is mailed to members opted in to receive it by post, with further editions available for collection from the admissions area of each zoo. 
  4. Entry to the competition is free and via the online form only, no paper or emailed entry forms will be accepted. The link to the online form can be found via a QR code at each Zoos Victoria property or in Autumn 2024 edition of the Zooper Kids magazine. 
  5. The online entry form requires submission of answers to the five dinosaur activity questions specific to each zoo, the correct secret code word, date of visit and member contact details, including membership number. Each submission with correct answers and code word constitutes one (1) competition entry per visit, per zoo, per member.  
  6. Additional visits to the same zoo after submission of entry constitute additional entries into the competition, without the need to submit the form again. There are no limits on competition entries per visit, per zoo, per member after correct submission of online entry form.  
  7. The Competition opens at 9am on Friday 29th March and closes at 11:59pm on Sunday 14th July. Any entry received before or after the expiry of the Competition Period will be deemed invalid. 
  8. Members (including children) must scan their membership card on entry on the day of their visit, during normal operating hours when the zoo is open to the public. Opening and closing times vary for each zoo and you can check them on the website (https://www.zoo.org.au).  
  9. One winner will be drawn weekly each Wednesday starting 10th April for the duration of the competition. Non-winning entries remain in the pool for a chance to win for the duration of the competition. A total of 15 prize packs will be given away.  
  10. Winning entries will be verified against scanned entry data for the date and zoo property entered in the competition.  

 The Prize 

The prize is one (1) dinosaur merchandise pack, each week of the competition. A total of 15 prize packs will be awarded. 

RRP of each prize pack is $100 (AUD), including GST.  

Prizes will be available to collect from winning entrant’s preferred zoo.  

Terms and Conditions 

  1. The total retail prize value is approximately $100 (AUD), includes GST, per winning entry. A total of 15 winning entries for the competition. 
  2. No component of the prize can be redeemed for cash. In the event that the prize becomes unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to provide similar merchandise to the same or greater value as the original prize, subject to any applicable laws or written directions made under applicable legislation. 
  3. All other costs associated with the prize, including but not limited to travel, parking, entry and other collection costs are the responsibility of the winner. 
  4. The Promoter will not be liable for any direct, indirect, special or consequential loss or damage caused, or suffered by the winner in relation to any person entering into the Competition or accepting or using any prize. 
  5. Notification and claiming the Prize. Following the Prize draw, the winner will be notified using the contact details provided by the member in the membership database.  The winning Entrant has one (1) week from the time and date of the notification being sent to respond, provide proof of eligibility, and claim the Prize. If the Prize is not claimed by the winning Entrant within this time frame, the Prize will be redrawn, and any previous winners will forgo all claims to the Prize. 
  6. Proof of ID or age may be required to claim the prize and is at the discretion of the Promoter. 
  7. The Promoter reserves the right to change these terms and conditions without notice and at any stage during the promotion. 
  8. If there is any event that prevents or hinders the Promoter’s conduct of the Competition or the Promoter’s ability to deliver the prize/s to the prize winner/s of the Competition, the Promoter may, in its discretion, cancel the Competition and recommence it at another time under the same conditions or select another winner. 
  9. The Prize Winner and guests must comply with all the standard terms and conditions of entry.  
  10. You acknowledge that the Promoter is under no obligation to exercise any of the rights granted to it by these Terms and Conditions and any communication of your entry to the public by the Promoter is at the complete discretion of the Promoter. 
  11. You agree that the Promoter may use your entry, any personal details and photographic material related to the prize provided to the Promoter for any promotional, marketing and publicity purposes of the Promoter in any media without notice and without any fee being paid to you. 
  12. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this Competition, or for any technical error that may occur in the course of the administration of this Competition. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries. 
  13. Decisions of the Promoter are final and will be binding on each person who enters the Competition, and no correspondence will be entered into.
