Bring the kids to experience an exciting new nature play space at Healesville Sanctuary this summer.

Nature play will provide an engaging and interactive space for children to learn while having fun. Located between the Kangaroos and ‘Harvest Cafe’, parents, grandparents, teachers and families can take a break in their journey, grab a coffee or snack and watch or play alongside their kids, as they explore nature.

Inspiration for nature play’s theme was sought from local Wurundjeri culture. The space features an eye-catching array of natural materials to create different zones and the twisting path symbolises Mindi, the Giant Snake from the Dreamtime.

Giant mounds covered in rocks and logs creates the perfect grounding for kids to climb and explore, while the largest mound that features the huge nest of Bunjil the eagle, provides an elevated lookout for kids to survey their surrounds, including Mum and Dad at the café.

With tunnels, sand play, a dry creek bed and sensory garden, nature play will offer kids of all ages the chance for adventure at the new-look Healesville Sanctuary.
