Sumatran Orang-utan Dewi celebrated her first birthday on December 6th, along with mother Maimunah, father Santan, and big brother Menyaru.

Dewi opened some birthday treat boxes, with help from her mother, but seemed just as interested in the wrapping paper as the treats.

Meet Little Emily, found on French Island a week ago, orphaned after Mum had a climbing accident. She was still clinging onto Mum and vets believe she could have been there for a few days. She was rescued by Parks Victoria staff and then transported to Healesville.

One of the largest gorilla exhibits in the world swings into action

Werribee Open Range Zoo's spectacular new gorilla exhibit, Gorillas Calling, was officially opened to the public today. The $3.6 million exhibit is the new home for three Western Lowland Gorillas silverback Motaba and his two sons, Yakini and Ganyeka.
