Wombats are Australian icons of the bush, known for their sturdy frame and coarse fur. Wombats are mostly solitary animals and a crowd favourite at Healesville Sanctuary.

Working with wombats is a unique balance of cuddles, care and corn kernels for keepers at Healesville Sanctuary.

Rhino Fund raid finds 470kg of poached meat

The anti-poaching team from one of Zoos Victoria's international partners, Rhino Fund Uganda, recently raided houses in a village close to the Ziwa Sanctuary, 170km north of Kampala, and confiscated almost 470kg of smoked bush-meat destined for trade in northern Uganda.
