Join a special program of immersive workshops, inspiring film, and traditional ceremony, offering meaningful opportunities to connect with Country, deepen your understanding, and reflect on how we can all care for the environment and each other.

Film Screenings

View the documentary 'Seven Seasons' which shares Indigenous knowledge and the young people at the forefront of climate action, such as Jaeden Williams-Briggs, a proud Yalukit Willam man of the Boonwurrung; Kai Lane, a proud Yorta Yorta and Barapa Barapa man; and Ky-ya Nicholson, a proud Wurundjeri, Dja Dja Wurrung and Ngurai illum Wurrung woman. The film also draws on knowledge from Dr Kit “Bee Babette” Prendergast and Dr Linden Ashcroft, a weather and climate science specialist at the University of Melbourne.

The documentary aims to restore our connection to nature, and our connection to each other delving into the climate crisis in Melbourne, spotlighting the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung wisdom through incredible videography by Max Shannon.

Join us for a special members only Q&A with 7 Seasons Director Clancy Lester, and contributors Kai Lane and Jaeden Williams-Briggs to learn more about the documentary and how you can help combat the climate crisis.

For the members only sessions (10:30am screening and 11am Q&A): All ages welcome. Attendees older than 3 years are required to book a free ticket due to limited availability.

 

Aboriginal Cultures Workshops - Members only

Every day at the Sanctuary, our Aboriginal Cultures Education Officers deliver workshops for students. This NAIDOC Week, we are sharing this experience with our members for free.

In this walking workshop, you will explore Aboriginal Cultures, knowledge systems and relationships with Country, and connect with ancient and contemporary ways of caring for Country.

The workshop explores:

  • Aboriginal Cultures, knowledge systems and connection to Country and wildlife
  • Australian animal features and behaviours
  • How living things depend on each other and their environment
  • Features of Australian animals
  • Impact of humans and seasonal changes on the environment
  • Actions that you can adopt to help care for Country

All ages welcome. Attendees older than 3 years are required to book a free ticket due to limited availability.
