AVAILABILITY

Daily at 10.30am and 2pm

Please arrive a minimum 15 minutes prior to the start time and make yourself known to staff upon arrival.

GROUP SIZE

Maximum of 8 guests per encounter (unless agreed with the Visitor Experience team prior to encounter).

RESTRICTIONS

Children 9 years and older can participate without a parent/guardian; parent/guardian is required to be present to supervise child/children.

Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by a parent/guardian; parent/guardian is required to purchase encounter ticket.

Children under 3 years of age can accompany parent/guardian FREE but must be held by parent/guardian and cannot feed cassowaries due to safety reasons. Please Note: Children under 3 cannot be held while parent/guardian is feeding cassowaries.

Enclosed shoes must be worn for all animal experiences. Please Note: Crocs are not considered enclosed shoes.

Don’t be fooled by the colourful Cassowary’s striking blue neck or soft feathers, this deadly animal has dinosaur-like feet, a razor-sharp beak and in-built helmet on its head.

Get up close to this incredible bird from behind the safety of a barrier, help feed it morning tea, and then enjoy an educational talk from our keepers who know these birds best.
