Cat Photo Competition Terms and Conditions
This Zoos Victoria Member “Purrfectly Indoors” Competition (“Competition”), an indoor cat photo competition is offered subject to the terms and conditions set out below "Terms and Conditions".
The promoter of this Competition is the Zoological Parks and Gardens Board trading as Zoos Victoria (the “Promoter”) ABN 96 913 959 053, located at the address of Elliott Avenue, Parkville VIC 3052.
Who can enter?
Entry is available to all active Zoos Victoria Members (“Members”). Entrants under 16 years of age may enter only with parental or guardian consent. Should the winner be under the age of 16 years, the prize will be awarded to the parent/guardian. Zoos Victoria reserves the right to require an entrant to produce identification and / or proof of age.
Employees, officers (including volunteers and board members) and contractors (and their immediate families) of the Promoter or of the agencies or companies associated with this Promotion are ineligible. "Immediate family" of a person means the parents, siblings, children, and spouse or partner (whether legal or de facto) of that person and any person associated with the Competition.
How to Enter
Entry to competition is free.
Submit a photo of your feline friend indoors via the online form emailed to the primary account holder in the October and / or November member emails.
Photos must be of own cat or cat in entrant’s care.
Member contact details must be provided, and the winner must be confirmed as an active Zoos Victoria member at the time of entering the draw.
The competition is a game of skill, and chance plays no part in determining the winners. Entries will be individually judged, based on the cat's perceived cuteness, the creativity and originality of the photograph, and the overall quality and appeal of the entry.
Competition opens 9:00am 26th October 2026 and closes 11:59pm 6th November 2026.
Winner will be drawn 9th November 2026.
The winning entrant will be contacted by phone and or email within 3 business days of the draw with the details provided. Non-winning entrants will not be contacted.
By entering, participants agree to these Terms & Conditions.
The Prize
One (1) winner will receive a CATNETS Peak Cat Enclosure 2.3m x 1.2m x 1.2m, Valued at $436 AUD.
Prize to be collected from Melbourne Zoo. Box measurements 90cm x 30cm x 30cm, approximately 14kg.
Terms and Conditions
The total retail prize value is approximately $436 (AUD) includes GST. * Correct at time of printing.
Submitted images must not infringe the copyright, privacy, or other rights of any person or organisation. Photos must not contain offensive, discriminatory, inappropriate, or unsafe content. Minor editing (cropping, colour correction, brightness adjustments) is permitted.
Entries will be judged based on creativity, image quality, and overall appeal. The judges' decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
Winner will receive one (1) CATNETS Peak Cat Enclosure. Measurement once built 2.3m x 1.2m x 1.2m. Box measurements 90cm x 30cm x 30cm, approximately 14kg. Prize is not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
In the event that the prize becomes unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to provide a similar prize to the same or greater value as the original prize, subject to any applicable laws or written directions made under applicable legislation.
Prize must be collected from Melbourne Zoo and cannot be posted or couriered to the winner. All other costs associated with the prize, including but not limited to travel, transport, accommodation, and all other ancillary costs are the responsibility of the winner.
The Promoter will not be liable for any direct, indirect, special or consequential loss or damage caused, or suffered by the winner in relation to any person entering the Competition or accepting or using any prize.
The Prize winner and guests must comply with all membership terms and conditions.
Notification and claiming the Prize. Following the Prize draw, the winner will be notified using the contact details provided by the member. The winning Entrant has one (1) week from the time and date of the notification being sent to respond, provide proof of eligibility, and claim the Prize. If the Prize is not claimed by the winning Entrant within this time frame, the Prize will be redrawn, and any previous winners will forgo all claims to the Prize.
Collection date from Melbourne Zoo must be arranged with the Membership Team, with a minimum of two (2) business days notice. Use of a trolley can be arranged. Prize must be collected by 18th December 2026.
By selecting ‘yes’, participants grant Zoos Victoria and RSPCA permission to display submitted photos in communications, newsletters, presentations, intranet pages, and promotional materials relating to the Competition without notice and without any fee being paid to you. Entrants retain ownership and copyright of their photographs.
Personal information collected for the Competition will only be used for administering the Competition and announcing winners. Participants first name and name of cat may be used by Zoos Victoria and RSPCA in communications, newsletters, presentations, intranet pages, and promotional materials relating to the Competition without notice and without any fee being paid to you.
Participants should obtain permission from any identifiable individuals appearing in a photo before submitting it.
The promoter may amend these Terms & Conditions or cancel the Competition if necessary.
No cats should be distressed, harmed, or placed in unsafe situations to obtain a photograph.
The promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry that appears to compromise animal welfare or does not comply with these Terms & Conditions.
Decisions of the Promoter are final and will be binding on each person who enters the Competition, and no correspondence will be entered into.
