Discover how to use design thinking to solve real-world challenges facing wildlife in our waterways. Through creative problem-solving and ecosystem focused activities discover how to bring conservation concepts into your classroom and empower students to design for a more sustainable future.

You will grow your knowledge, teaching skills and confidence:

  • Gain ideas for sparking interest and curiosity
  • Learn up-to-date information and real-world examples from a variety of organisations
  • Discover real ways to consolidate learning
  • Access lesson plans and resources that you can use right away

During this one-day workshop, you will:

  • Learn about a variety of real-world problems faced by Victorian waterways.
  • Consider how to use Design Thinking to introduce and generate solutions to these problems with students
  • Explore Melbourne Zoo and learn about available resources relevant to Design Thinking
  • Hear from Zoo Biologists and experts from other organisations about the work they are doing across Victoria
  • Talk with Zoo Teachers and other teaching colleagues as you develop ideas for your classes
