Are you passionate about wildlife and interested in a career with animals, conservation or the environment? Join our experts for the 2026 Careers Expo at Melbourne Zoo.

This event is perfect for students in Years 9-12 who want to explore careers in zoology, wildlife conservation, environmental science, animal welfare, and more.

Workshops

Take part in our interactive workshops, where young people explore real-world challenges that organisations are currently addressing. Each session offers insight into career pathways, a look at how the organisation operates, and an opportunity to contribute ideas through collaborative activities.

Important Information:

  • Tickets are non-refundable.
  • The zoo prioritises animal welfare and wellbeing, so attendees will not be able to touch or hold any animals during this event. 
  • This is an outdoor all-weather program; the attendees will need appropriate clothing for weather conditions. This could include a raincoat, hat and sun protection.
  • Attendees need to bring their own food and drink bottle.
  • There are some activities within the zoo grounds where attendees will not be under the direct supervision of a staff member.
  • The attendees are to remain in the zoo grounds.
  • Attendees are responsible for providing and carrying with them any personal medication. First aid will be provided by a qualified Zoos Victoria First Aid Officer.
