Member MAY-hem terms and conditions

This Zoos Victoria Members’ May-Hem Promotion (“Promotion”) is offered subject to the terms and conditions set out below "Terms and Conditions". 

 

The promoter of this Competition is the Zoological Parks and Gardens Board trading as Zoos Victoria (the “Promoter”) ABN 96 913 959 053, located at the address of Elliott Avenue, Parkville VIC 3052. 

 

Who can enter? 

Entry is only available to active Zoos Victoria Members (“Members”). Should a winner be under the age of 16 years, the prize will be awarded to a parent or guardian 16 years of age or over. Zoos Victoria reserves the right to require an entrant to produce identification and / or proof of age. 

 

Employees, officers (including volunteers and board members) and contractors (and their immediate families) of the Promoter or of the agencies or companies associated with this Promotion are ineligible. "Immediate family" of a person means the parents, siblings, children, and spouse or partner (whether legal or de facto) of that person and any person associated with the Competition. 

 

Promotional Dates 

Member May-hem promotional period begins at 9am Friday 1st May 2026 and ends at 5pm Sunday 31st May 2026 AEST. 

 

Daily prize giveaways will be conducted randomly between standard opening hours at each of Zoos Victoria properties, namely Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary and Kyabram Fauna Park (collectively called “zoos”). 

 

Weekly prize draws will be conducted on Monday 4th May, Monday 11th May, Monday 18th May, Monday 25th May plus Monday 1st June 2026 at Zoos Victoria Corporate Office, Elliot Ave Parkville.  

 

Major prize draw will be conducted at 12pm on Monday 1st June 2026 at Zoos Victoria Corporate Office, Elliot Ave, Parkville.   

 

How to Enter Prize Draws 

1. All active Zoos Victoria members on 31st May 2026 will automatically receive one entry into the draw for all major prizes. 

2. Each visit by an active Zoos Victoria member at one of Zoos Victoria’s four zoos between 1st May 2026 and 31st May 2026 will constitute an additional entry into the major prize draw. Valid for all scanned visits during regular opening hours up to 5pm 31st May 2026 AEST.

 

3. Each visit by an active Zoos Victoria member at one of Zoos Victoria’s four zoos will also constitute an entry into the corresponding weekly prize draw as follows.  

    1. Week 1: Visits 1st – 3rd May, drawn Monday 4th May

    2. Week 2: Visits 4th – 10th May, drawn Monday 11th May

    3. Week 3: Visits 11th – 17th May, drawn Monday 18th May

    4. Week 4: Visits 18th – 24th May, drawn Monday 19th May  

    5. Week 5: Visits 25th – 31st May, drawn Monday 1st June

 

4. Memberships are non-transferrable and must only be used by the named person on the membership card. Any breach of membership terms and conditions, including sharing of memberships will void all entries into the draws.  

 

5. Members (including children) must scan their membership card on entry on the day of their visit, during normal operating hours when the zoo is open to the public. Opening and closing times vary for each zoo and you can check them on the website (https://www.zoo.org.au). Scans cannot be added retrospectively.

 

6. Entry to the giveaway is free for Zoos Victoria Members and will be automatically processed using member and visit data stored in the membership database. 

 

7. A minimum of one hundred (100) members will be randomly selected daily across the four zoos for an instant giveaway. Random selection will occur at each of the four zoos, and includes current members scanning in for a visit, new members signing up or lapsed members renewing.  

 

8. Twenty-two (22) winners will be drawn weekly by random selection each Monday from valid member visits of the previous week for a weekly prize, starting 4th May, for the duration of the giveaway.  

 

9. Twenty-nine (29) winners will be drawn by random selection at the conclusion of the giveaway for the major prize draw on Monday 1st June.  

 

10. Winning entries for both the weekly and major prizes will be cross-checked and verified against the membership database to ensure eligibility.  

 

11. Winners will be notified by details provided by the member in the member database. Non-winning members will not be notified.

Terms and Conditions for Prize Draws 

  1. The total retail prize value is a minimum of $124,000 (AUD), includes GST, with a minimum of  6,000 winners over the duration of the giveaway.  

  1. No component of any prize can be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash. In the event that a prize becomes unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to provide similar product to the same or greater value as the original prize, subject to any applicable laws or written directions made under applicable legislation. 

  1. All other costs associated with the prizes, including but not limited to travel, parking, food, transport, insurance, entry and other collection costs are the responsibility of the winners. 

  1. The Prize Winner and guests must comply with all the standard terms and conditions of entry.  

  1. The Promoter will not be liable for any direct, indirect, special or consequential loss or damage caused, or suffered by a winner in relation to any person entering into the Giveaway or accepting or using any prize. 

  1. Experience prizes do not include entry to the zoos. Winners and their guests must hold valid a valid Zoos Victoria Membership or purchase entry tickets at time of redeeming the prize.  Winners must comply with all safety instructions and experience terms and conditions,  

  1. Experience and camps prizes must be booked and taken by expiry date on prize voucher. Experience and camp prizes are subject to Zoos Victoria cancellation policy. Missed experiences, or date change requests with less than required notice will forfeit that prize. Date change requests with more than required notice are subject to initial prize conditions, dependent on availability.  

  1. Camps, including Slumber Safari and Roar ‘n’ Snore, must be booked over the phone with Customer Engagement Team on 1300 966 278 between 9am and 5pm 7 days, and are subject to availability. Camps require a minimum of 7 days notice for date change requests, other experiences require a minimum of 24 hours notice for date change requests.  

  1. Experience prizes may have minimum age requirements for safety and welfare reasons. Unless otherwise stated children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Children aged 8 and under must be supervised by a 1:1 adult to child ratio. Children aged 9-15 must be supervised by a 1:2 adult to child 

  1. Notification and claiming the Prize: Following each Prize draw, the winners will be notified using the contact details provided by the member in the membership database.  Each winning Entrant has one (1) week from the time and date of the notification being sent to respond, provide proof of eligibility, and claim the Prize. If the Prize is not claimed by the winning Entrant within this time frame, the Prize will be redrawn, and any previous winners will forgo all claims to the Prize. 

  1. Details for how to redeem will be provided upon claiming the prize.  

  1. Proof of ID or age may be required to claim the prize and is at the discretion of the Promoter. 

  1. The Promoter reserves the right to change these terms and conditions without notice and at any stage during the promotion. 

  1. If there is any event that prevents or hinders the Promoter’s conduct of the Competition or the Promoter’s ability to deliver the prize/s to the prize winner/s of the Competition, the Promoter may, in its discretion, cancel the Competition and recommence it at another time under the same conditions or select another winner. 

  1. You acknowledge that the Promoter is under no obligation to exercise any of the rights granted to it by these Terms and Conditions and any communication of your entry to the public by the Promoter is at the complete discretion of the Promoter. 

  1. You agree that the Promoter may use your entry, any personal details and photographic material related to the prize provided to the Promoter for any promotional, marketing and publicity purposes of the Promoter in any media without notice and without any fee being paid to you. 

  1. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this Competition, or for any technical error that may occur in the course of the administration of this Competition. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries. 

  1. Decisions of the Promoter are final and will be binding on each person who enters the Competition, and no correspondence will be entered into. 

  1. All times and dates specified in these Terms and Conditions are times and dates in Melbourne, Australia AEST.  

 

Specific Conditions for Prizes 

In addition to general Terms and Conditions above, specific details for each prize type are listed below 

Slumber Safari Overnight Experience 

  • Five (5) winners will each receive one slumber safari overnight experience.  

  • Experience is valid for up to 4 people, children or adults, sharing a maximum of two lodges 

  • Experience takes place at Werribee Open Range Zoo, on a scheduled and available slumber safari date 

  • Booking must be arranged and taken by the 30 June 2027  

  • Maximum of 1 reservation date change, with minimum 7 days notice, and new date must be prior to 30 June 2027  

Three (3) Year Zoos Victoria Membership

  • Ten (10) winners will each receive a 3-year Zoos Victoria membership for 2 adults, to be nominated by the winner 

  • Up to 5 children may be added from the same household as one or both adults  

  • Memberships are not transferrable, and winner must provide full names and dates of birth of recipients 

  • For current Zoo Members, membership will be applied as an extension to current membership, after completion of any existing instalment contract.  

Melbourne Zoo Roar ‘n’ Snore 

  • Five (5) winners will each receive a Melbourne Zoo Roar ‘n’ Snore experience 

  • Winner and 3 guests will explore the zoo after dark during this unique overnight camping experience 

  • Experience takes place at Melbourne Zoo, on a scheduled and available Roar ‘n’ Snore date 

  • Booking must be arranged and taken by the 30 June 2027 

  • Maximum of 1 reservation date change, with minimum 7 days notice, and new date must be prior to 30 June 2027 

Melbourne Zoo Ultimate VIP Experience 

  • Five (5) winners will each receive a Melbourne Zoo Ultimate VIP Experience 

  • Winner and 3 guests will indulge in the ultimate exploration of Melbourne Zoo behind the scenes on this half day adventure  

  • Minimum age 10 years, a child between 10-16 years must be accompanied by an adult  

  • Experience takes place at Melbourne Zoo, on a scheduled and available Ultimate VIP Experience date 

  • Booking must be arranged and taken by 30 June 2027 contacting Melbourne Zoo directly, on email contact to be provided to winner. 

  • Maximum of 1 reservation date change, with minimum 7 days notice, and new date must be prior to 30 June 2027 

Melbourne Zoo Kids’ Birthday Party package 

  • One winner will receive a two-hour birthday party package for 15 children to be held at Melbourne Zoo (suitable for 2 – 11 years) 

  • Includes electronic invitations, child friendly menu, venue hire for select venues, light snacks and refreshments for adults 

  • Available Saturday or Sunday, beginning at 10am or 1:30pm  

  • 10 free adult entry tickets included, additional tickets available at 50% off if pre-booked with function

Werribee Open Range Exclusive VIP Elephants Experience 

  • One winner and up to 5 guests will enjoy an exclusive Elephant Experience at Werribee Open Range Zoo, where you will go behind-the-scenes for an unforgettable morning with the elephants and their keepers.  

  • Minimum age 8 years, children must be supervised by a 1:2 adult to child ratio 

  • Experience will take place at Werribee Open Range Zoo on a regularly scheduled and available Elephant Experience date between 1st June 2026 – 31st December 2026.

Kyabram Fauna Park Major Encounter Experience 

  • One winner and 4 guests will be guided on a bespoke tour, experiencing multiple animal encounters at Kyabram Fauna Park.  

  • Encounters include Meerkat, Koala, Kangaroo, Reptile, Cassowary, plus a mystery encounter.  

  • Children under the age of 9 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under the age of 3 must be held or hold the hand of an adult.  

  • Experience will take place at Kyabram Fauna Park, on a mutually agreed date. 

  • Must be booked by 31st December 2026 by contacting Kyabram Fauna park directly, on email contact to be provided to winner. 

Healesville Sanctuary VIP Sanctuary Tour 

  • One winner and up to 5 guests will have the opportunity to book themselves this exclusive tour that includes behind the scenes elements and insights, plus reserved seating at the acclaimed Spirits of the Sky, free-flight bird presentation 

  • Minimum age 5 years, children must be supervised by a 1:2 adult to child ratio 

  • Experience will take place at Healesville Sanctuary on a regularly scheduled and available VIP Sanctuary Tour date between 1st June 2026 – 31st December 2026.

Europcar 3-day EV rental  

  • One winner will receive complimentary 3-day EV rental thanks to Europcar 

  • The prize consists of a single 3-day Europcar rental of an Electric Vehicle (EV), within Australia only and does not include any optional extras.  

  • The renter must be aged 21 or over and hold a current, valid Zoos Victoria membership.  

  • The prize is subject to availability and is valid only at select Europcar locations with a 2-week booking time.  

  • The prize is not redeemable for rentals during the following blackout periods: April 3 2026, to April 23 2026; June 25 2026, to July 17 2026; September 17 2026, to October 5 2026; December 18 2026, to 31 December 2026. The booking must be made and the rental completed by 18 December 2026. 

  • The total retail prize value is approximately $600 (AUD), includes GST. Prices can change dependent on the location, airport or city collection and the time of year.    

  • Standard Europcar age, credit card, and driver requirements apply. A valid Zoos Victoria membership card and a matching, valid driver’s licence must be presented at the time of vehicle collection. 

  • Each rental day is based on a 24-hour period. 

  • All rentals are subject to Europcar’s standard rental terms and conditions and will include standard liability. 

  • To claim the prize, the winner will be provided with an email to provide their preferred travel dates, vehicle pick up/drop off location, full name, date of birth, email address and phone number. 

Village Cinemas Vjunior Private Screening  

  • One winner will receive a Village Cinemas Vjunior private screening 

  • Private screening available at a Village Cinemas Vjunior Vic location on a mutually agreed date for a maximum of 55 guests.  

  • Private screening includes film and cinema hire cost. No Food & Beverage included. 

  • To claim the prize, the winner will be provided with an email to provide their preferred Village Cinemas Vjunior cinema location, full name, email address and phone number. 

2 Night Oaks Hotel & Resorts Stay 

  • 1 x 2 night stay in a 2-bedroom apartment at any Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites Hotels Property in Australia 

  • Prize will be awarded as an Oaks voucher valid until 1 May 2027 

  • This Voucher is valid for travel until 1 May 2027 and accommodation bookings must occur prior to this date.

CATNETS Peak Cat Enclosure

PLUS Snow Leopard Experience 

  • Same winner will also receive a Snow Leopard Experience for themselves and 3 guests 

  • Minimum age 10 years, a child between 10-16 years must be accompanied by an adult 

  • Experience takes place at Melbourne Zoo, on a scheduled and available Snow Leopard Experience date

Petstock $100 Voucher 

•     Three (3) winners will each receive one Petstock $100 gift voucher.   

•      All standard Petstock Gift Card terms and conditions apply 

Zoos Victoria $200 Gift Cards 

  • Each week, five (5) winners will receive one $200 Zoos Victoria gift card, for a total of 25 winners 

  • Gift cards will be sent electronically to the email address provided 

  • Zoos Victoria Gift Cards can be used for admission tickets, memberships, animal encounters, overnight experiences and in the onsite Zoo Shop. 

  • Zoos Victoria Gift Cards cannot be used at catering outlets 

  • Zoos Victoria Gift Cards are valid for 3 years from the issue date. 

Zoos Victoria Membership extension 

  • Each week, five (5) winners will receive a membership extension for 2 adults and up to 5 children from the same household, for a total of 25 winners 

  • Membership extension will be applied as an extension to current membership, after completion of any existing instalment contract. 

  • Zoos Victoria memberships are not-transferrable, and may only be used by the named member 

Coffee for Wildlife 

  • Each week, ten (10) winners will receive a Coffee for Wildlife coffee pack to be collected from their choice of zoo

Healesville Sanctuary Wine & Wildlife Family Passes 

  • Each week, one (1) winner will receive one family pass (2 Adults and up to 4 children) to Healesville Sanctuary’s Wine & Wildlife event, for a total of 5 winners 

  • Wine & Wildlife occurs on one weekend in August at Healesville Sanctuary,  

  • Winner will be given the choice to attend on one of the selected dates and tickets will be issued once available. 

  • Wild & Wildlife 2026 Dates yet to be released.  

Zoos Victoria General Admission Double Pass 

  • Two general admission double passes will be given away randomly to members daily at each property to bring along non-member guests or gift them to your friends and family 

  • General admission passes are eligible for upgrade to Zoos Victoria membership 

  • Zoos Victoria General Admission Double Passes are valid for 12 months from date of issue 

Zoos Victoria Free Hot Drink or Icy Twist vouchers 

  • 3,150 free hot drink or icy twist vouchers will be given away randomly to members daily across the four properties.  

  • In the event that any hot drink or icy twist vouchers are not distributed on a given day, the remaining cards will be carried over and added to the next day's giveaway 

  • Coffee cards / icy twist vouchers are valid for one regular hot drink or one Icy Twist icy pole at Zoos Victoria catering outlets at all zoos. 

  • Not redeemable for cash or exchangeable for other items 

Melbourne Zoo Carousel Passes 

  • A total of 1,530 carousel passes will be given away randomly to members at Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary  

  • Carousel passes will only distributed on Saturdays and Sundays during May  

  • Carousel passes are only redeemable at Melbourne Zoo, when the carousel is operating on weekends and school holidays.  

  • Winners must follow the operational instructions provided by the Melbourne Zoo carousel staff  

Daily merchandise giveaways 

  • A range of plush, drink bottles, bags, readers and patches will be given away randomly to members daily across the four properties 

  • Merchandise is random and stocks will vary between properties 

  • Merchandise is not redeemable for cash or exchangeable for other items
