Members Vote: Giraffe Calf Name
Help us name Melbourne Zoo's new Giraffe calf!
Zoos Victoria members, we need your help!
Melbourne Zoo’s adorable new giraffe calf needs a name, and we want you to help choose it.
Our keepers have curated a beautiful shortlist inspired by Africa’s landscapes and wildlife. Each name carries a special story, now it’s time to pick the one that feels just right.
The finalists are:
1. Zambezi (zam-bee-zee)
Named after the river flowing through Southern Africa. Bezi for short!
2. Kidepo (kih-deh-poh)
Inspired by the river in Uganda’s Kidepo Valley.
3. Samburu (sam-boo-roo)
After the iconic wildlife reserve in Northern Kenya.
PLUS, as a thank you, one lucky member who votes will win a double pass to our member-exclusive Giraffe Breakfast experience, coming soon!
Cast your vote below and be part of this special milestone.
Voting closes midnight Sunday 15 February.
