Members Vote: Kangaroo Island Kangaroo Joeys

Help us name our Kangaroo Island Kangaroo joeys

Zoos Victoria members, you're invited to help name Healesville Sanctuary's adorable Kangaroo Island Kangaroo Joeys!

Our keepers have created a shortlist of names inspired by the Healesville region below.

Both our joeys will be turning one in a couple of weeks! The joeys are very inquisitive, exploring their paddock and have even been spotted participating in the visitor encounters. We were also able to weigh them for the first time, when they participated in the recent voluntary weighing of our Kangaroo Island Kangaroo mob, with the female weighing 7kg and the male coming in at 7.3kg. They love to lay in the sunshine with their bellies facing the sky on a nice sunny day. They have also been observed "play sparring" with each other, with the female being the instigator, whose also been spotted kicking her mum and grandmother Penny in the rump.

Our female joey's mother is Sherry and our male joey's mother is Pinot. Both were fathered by our only breeding male Oscar here at Healesville Sanctuary.

Voting closes 9:00am Monday 3 November.
