Terms & Conditions - Member Birthday Competition

This document sets out the terms of participation in the Zoos Victoria Member competition (“Member Birthday“ Competition).

  1. The promoter of this Competition is Zoos Victoria Pty Ltd (the “Promoter”) ABN 969-139-590-53, located at the address of Elliott Avenue, Parkville VIC 3052. 

  1. Entry to the Competition is free with valid membership.  

  1. Entry to the Competition is open to all active Zoos Victoria Members. Zoos Victoria reserves the right to require a member to produce identification and / or proof of age. 

  1. Employees of the Promoter, Volunteers, Zoos Victoria board members and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter. "Immediate Family" of a person means the parents, siblings, children, and spouse or partner (whether legal or de facto) of that person and any person associated with the Competition. 

  1. Each entry must be entered in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.  By entering the Competition, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. The Promoter may in its discretion refuse to award any prize to any entrant who fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions. 

  1. The Competition opens at 9am on the 1st of each month and closes at 5pm on the last day of each month and is valid during regular opening hours for the birthday month of the eligible member.  

  1. To enter the Competition, you must be an active Zoos Victoria Member and scan your digital or physical membership card on your visit to either Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary or Kyabram Fauna Park during your birthday month, as listed on your membership profile. Multiple scans on the same day are considered one entry for the purposes of this Competition. 

  1. Zoos Victoria memberships are not-transferrable and are only able to be used by the named member on the membership card. Proof of identification may be requested at admission. Misuse of membership will void all entries into the competition.  

  1. Two (2) monthly winners – one (1) child member and one (1) adult member - will be selected by random draw at Zoos Victoria Corporate Office, Elliott Avenue Parkville, Victoria, at the start of the following month. Adult members include adult, concession, senior, and teacher membership types. This is a game of chance.  

  1. The prize for child members is one (1) Retail Prize Pack valued at $50 RRP per month, posted to the winning member.  

  1. The prize pack for adult, concession, senior and teacher members is one (1) $200 Zoos Victoria Gift card, sent electronically by email. Zoos Victoria Gift Cards can be used for admission tickets, memberships, animal encounters, overnight experiences and in the onsite Zoo Shops. Zoos Victoria Gift cards cannot be used at catering outlets.    

  1. No component of the prize can be transferred or redeemed for cash. In the event that any of the prizes become unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to provide a similar product to the same or greater value as the original prize, subject to any applicable laws or written directions made under applicable legislation.  

  1. The winner must claim the prize within five (5) business days of being notified by email that you have won. Failure to claim the prize within five (5) business days will result in a redraw and you will not be entitled to any supplementary prize or benefit.  

  1. In the event a redraw is necessary, it will take place at Zoos Victoria Corporate Office, Elliott Avenue Parkville, Victoria, 3052.  

  1. Decisions of the Promoter are final and will be binding on each person who enters the Competition, and no correspondence will be entered into. 

  1. For all winner’s, the primary account holder will be notified by email with the details listed in the membership account. It is the responsibility of the member to ensure these details are kept up-to-date.  

  1. If there is any event that prevents or hinders the Promoter’s conduct of the Competition or the Promoter’s ability to deliver the prize to the prize winner/s of the Competition, the Promoter may, in its discretion, cancel the Competition and recommence it at another time under the same conditions or select another winner. 

  1. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this Competition, or for any technical error that may occur during the administration of this Competition. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
