From the CBD

Werribee Open Range Zoo is located 35 kilometres west of Melbourne’s city centre, on the Princes Freeway. It is a short 30-minute drive from the city over the Westgate Bridge or via the Geelong Road. (Take the Werribee South exit to K Road.)

The Zoo is also en route to the Great Ocean Road and is a major attraction on the Great Southern Touring Route and the Bay Tour.

From Avalon Airport

Take the M1 towards Melbourne Airport/Melbourne. It will take approximately 25 minutes to arrive at Werribee Open Range Zoo.

Werribee Open Range Zoo is accessible by public transport.

From Melbourne

Step 1
Catch a train from the Melbourne CBD to Werribee station (travelling on the Werribee Line).

Step 2
From Werribee station catch Bus 439 Werribee South to the Zoo.

 

From Geelong

Step 1
Catch a train from Geelong to Wyndham Vale station (travelling on the Melbourne train).

Step 2
From Wyndham Vale station catch the Bus 190 Werribee Station to Werribee station.

Step 3
From Werribee station catch Bus 439 Werribee South to the Zoo.

 

Please note: The last Safari Bus Tour of the day leaves at 3:30pm. We recommend visitors arrive earlier in the day to avoid disappointment.

Tip – use their Journey Planner for public transport directions from anywhere in Victoria. Journey Planner will work out the best way to get to the zoo. Simply enter your starting address in the ‘From’ box and enter ‘Werribee Zoo’ as a landmark in the ‘To’ box.

Shuttle Bus

Squires Coach from CBD

Squires Coach shuttle departs the National Gallery of Victoria (180 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne) for Werribee Open Range Zoo at 9.30am.

Please be at the pick-up point by 9:20am for a 9:30am departure.

There is an alternative pick-up point along the route, at 28 South Gate Ave, Southbank.

The shuttle cost is $35 per person, return transport only. Bookings are essential.

A private shuttle is also available with price on application. You can choose your own pick-up point and times.

Sky Bus Shuttle from Avalon Airport

SkyBus Avalon City Express runs between Avalon Airport (AVV) and Werribee town centre, from here catch local public bus to the Zoo. Skybus schedule meets every major flight arriving and departing Avalon Airport. No need to book – just turn up and go.

Day Tour
