Using Design Thinking to Protect Waterways
Discover how to use design thinking to solve real-world challenges facing wildlife in our waterways.
Through creative problem-solving and ecosystem focused activities, discover how to bring conservation concepts into your classroom and empower students to design for a more sustainable future. This conference is a collaboration between Zoos Victoria and partners, hosted at Melbourne Zoo.
During this one-day conference, you will:
- Hear from experts from Melbourne Water, Parks Victoria, Port Phillip EcoCentre, Phillip Island Nature Parks, Environment Education Victoria (EEV), Design and Technology Teachers Association (DATTAVic) to learn about the work they are doing across Victoria
- Learn about a variety of real-world problems faced by Victorian waterways.
- Consider how to use Design Thinking to introduce and generate solutions to these problems with students
- Explore Melbourne Zoo and learn about available resources relevant to Design Thinking
- Talk with Zoo Teachers and other teaching colleagues as you develop ideas for your classes
Includes all conference materials, entry into the zoo for the day, and catered morning tea and lunch.
