New Year, New Croc!
Melbourne Zoo is thrilled to welcome Pangalawa (Pangi), a 12-year-old Philippine crocodile who has travelled from Germany’s Cologne Zoo to her new home in Australia. With fewer than 200 left in the wild, this critically endangered species is among the rarest crocodilians on Earth. Pangi may be shy, but she’s settling in well—and she’s here for a vital mission: helping secure the future of her species. Come meet Pangi this summer and discover her incredible story.

Five fuzzy meerkat pups join Melbourne Zoo
Melbourne Zoo has welcomed five adorable meerkat pups, born to mum Toto and dad Malu. The tiny newcomers – now the size of small lemons – are exploring their habitat under the watchful eye of big sister Mwezi, who’s taken on the role of super-sibling carer. Visitors these school holidays might spot the pups tumbling over each other, following mum and sister, or even stealing snacks from the adults. Listen out for their high-pitched squeaks and chirps – they’re as cute as they sound!
