A unique learning day at the Zoo for U3A members

Join other University of the 3rd Age members at Melbourne Zoo to explore the interesting world of animal welfare and care.

What you’ll experience

You will enjoy all‑day Zoo access plus a 3‑hour group workshop led by our expert team.

Your workshop will explore:

  • The fascinating world of animal welfare science
  • How Zoos Victoria cares for animals across habitats
  • Real stories and insights from Zoo staff
  • Take home practical tips to support the animals in your own life

Choose the workshop time that suits you:

  • Morning session: 10am - 1pm (includes morning tea)
  • Afternoon session: 2pm - 5pm (includes afternoon tea)

Accessibility

These workshops cater for people with different needs:

  • Captions will be on during the presentation
  • We will travelling a short distance outside and will be moving at a gentle pace
  • Free wheelchair bookings can be made up to 48 hours before the day
