Join us behind the scenes to meet our growing Lion pride and meet the passionate keepers who care for them every day.

The multi-generational pride at Werribee continues to grow with the addition of Sheru & Asali’s two new cubs, Sukari and Kwame (Born Valentines Day 2026), joining our 2 and a half-year olds Jango, Mwezi and Kianga, alongside their mother Nilo.

During this intimate experience, you’ll meet members of this incredible pride and may witness training sessions, enrichment activities or other parts of their daily activities, while our keepers share how they care for this dynamic family group. Find out how you can tell who’s who out on display, discover their individual personalities and hear the latest updates about this incredible pride. You will also learn about how our unique habitat design enables us to care for this group and provide opportunities for them to participate in wild behaviors.

Each experience will be different, allowing our Keepers to let the individual animals shine and give them the choice in how they participate. This means that although each experience may be unique, it will certainly be one you won’t forget.

Please note: While we will endeavour to include the cubs in all experiences, they are still growing, learning and integrating into their new home so this may not always be possible.

Zoo entry not included. Be sure to also book your entry tickets for the same date as your encounter.
