Let your curiosity come alive and let your senses run wild as you explore the natural surroundings of Healesville Sanctuary these school holidays.
Adventure in any weather with endless opportunities to play and learn.
Daily activities include:
• Warm up with a story next to the fire with our book nook at the Heritage Shelter
• Learn how we care for our threatened skinks during the winter months at our new ‘Skinks on the Brink’ Keeper Talk at 2:15pm daily at Reptiles.
• Check out Banksia Grove with a deck overlooking the billabong, nature play areas, growing tunnel and more!
• Celebrate the seven seasons of the Kulin nation – The Waring, wombat, season runs from April to July
• Hear Murrundindi (Wurundjeri Elder) share cultural stories and listen to the sounds of the didgeridoo, every day during the School Holidays except for Saturdays. Look out for our Cultural Officers on Tuesdays and Thursdays to learn about Wurundjeri Culture.
• Enjoy our wonderful array of talks throughout the day.
• Keep active and warm up as you jump and play in our Banksia, Bunjil and Corroborree Frog Nature Play spaces.
• Keep your eyes peeled for our Roving Rangers around the Sanctuary – they just love sharing their knowledge with you!
• Enjoy a warm cup of our very own coffee blend at one of the cafes.
• Discover Australia's majestic birds in the spectacular presentation of Spirits of the Sky, on twice daily.
• Keep an eye out for our volunteer-led ‘Teddy Vet Checks’ at Future Vets 11am – 3pm – Please Note* these are volunteer led, times and days are dependent on volunteer availability.
